Home at last!
I am an italian born and raised in brooklyn and I have searched high and low in Austin for edible pizza. Homeslice far surpasses any other "pizza" in this town. The wait on a weekend evening is awful I know but this is the best pizza in the area and we have never had a problem with service. I would (and have) recommend this to anyone and I would like to thank the stranger at McBrides who told us about it!

Awesome pizza, shame about the wait
This is, without doubt, the best pizza I've ever had. I don't know if some of these other reviewers have been hypnotized or if they just want to hate on Austin, but you will not find a better pizza elsewhere.

It is true what they say about the wait there on the weekends, or any other day for that matter. But, it's a small place, and it's amazing pizza, so obviously tons and tons of people are going to show up for dinner hour.

My advice, order your pizza an hour ahead of when you'd like to eat. It's called planning ahead.

Great pizza, great place. Wait staff is cool, yet attentive.
Great pizza, great place. Wait staff is cool, yet attentive. Usually a wait, but if all you want is a slice, go to the window and you will usually be served quickly.

Worst part about them is they are closed Tuesday's which is hard to remember.

Sub par pizza
Don't buy into the long lines and the catchy name. The pizza is defnitely sub par. The ingredients they use are of cheap quality and the worst thing about their pizzas are that it is bland and the crust is flavorless. Pay attention to the after taste...there is none! You will notice ppl dousing their pizzas with hot pepper flakes b/c otherwise there is no flavor. This is FAR from NY style pizza. The service is horrible on the weekends.

Yum-ito NY Pizza
If you live thin-crust pizza with extremely fresh ingredients, this is your pizza. If you like a "hip" atmosphere (read: lots of young people and lots of loud music), this is your place. If you like the food but not the ambience, I highly recommend ordering to-go and picking it up, otherwise your experience will be sub-par. As for other food choices, the calzones are extremely good and a great value for the price, the same with their family-sized salads. The crowds can get ridiculous at times, but that should be an indication that this is a great place. That said, beware that parking can be tricky: the tiny Homeslice parking lot is rarely empty, but there is plenty of parallel parking on either cross street to Congress. Keep the munchkins at home for dinner time, but bring 'em for lunch or just go with my usual mod.op.: order to-go. Really, the pizza is amazing.
