Bad Experience by Paula D. at InsiderPages
I had three bad experiences at Dr Kangos office.
The first was when I consulted them on my son's poddy training. I was having a difficulty training him. When I asked for suggestions or possible medical problem, he said it was me putting too much pressure on him and keeping him from progressing. Later, I found out he had ADHD and OCD issues. Until that was discovered by another physician, I felt horrible about myself and my mothering skills.
The second problem was the treatment of my other son's ear infections. They were continuous. Dr Kangos kept giving my son anti-biotics and told me to go home. Later found out through his new physician that he needed tubes in his ears and he had not been able to hear the entire time he had been given the anti-biotics. As a result, his speech had been delayed slightly.
These problems were discovered after I left. What made me leave is what made me mad! After having my third child, I brought my newborn in for shots. After the shots had been administered, I was trying to comfort his crying through nursing him. After five minutes in the room, he came in without knocking and said would you please leave so that I can get another patient in here!
I guess the message is, if you have run-of-the-mill ped visits consisting of well-checks and occasional common illnesses, you could maybe take the risk, but if you have a special need, forget it! He's not trained for it and he doesn't have the patience for it.
