Grown a little too big for their britches..
I write this with a heavy heart. Drs. Love, Wisbrock, Davenport are all extremely caring and compassionate, as are the front office staff. My issue.. I was one of Dr. Love's first clients when she was first starting out and their approach just isn't the same any longer. I've been taking my animals, both cats and dogs there, for over 15 years. It just doesn't seem to me that the focus is as much on my animals anymore than it is on getting outrageous fees from their faithful clients. I'm actually considering trying Brykerwoods or someone else that 1)doesn't charge so much and 2) is willing to work with those like me who have a genuine interest in bettering the health of our pet, but might need a payment system sometimes. They try to push their holistic and way overpriced foods with continued, costly visits. That's not the Carolyn Love who cared as much for the owner as she did the patient. She (they) love the animals, don't get me wrong, but it seems as though since she added all this additional staff that the overhead has taken the place of the willingness to do their best affordable care. They could knock their prices in half and still earn more than most vets around town. Great care if you have deep pockets.

Pros: loving to each animal
Cons: prices way too high, difficult to appt with preferred vet, no payment plans for higher priced procedures

awesome vet by Joe E. at InsiderPages
Dr. Love and her professionally minded staff are about as good as it gets. The warm friendly atmosphere of the clinic from the moment you walk in is tangible. The knowledge that Dr. Love has of avian medicine and the discipline that she puts into all related small animal medicine practices is awe-inspiring. A bonus is her knowledge of exotic pets. Highly recommended for your pet, whether they run, jump, hop or swim. Joe Evans

Love will save the Day by M S. at InsiderPages
I recently adopted a stray chihuahua. I named him LittleOne. He was a very finicky eater and didn't drink water. As the days progressed his food intake was slow to none. I decided to see a vet. It was not Love but another (I choose not to define). The other veterinarian told me to give it Alpo, Mighty Dog or a Purina wet food. I called them back to say that LittleOne isn't eating. I was told to purchase mighty dog.I am not a vet however, my instinct told me to find a real one.So I remembered years ago Love, had taken care of a Siamese that I had.So now LOVE saved the day for me. I scheduled an appointment immediately. The place is VERY VERY clean where as the other clinic was not. The receptionist was so helpful and polite. Now the clincher... Geoff! Yep this Veterinarian solved LittleOnes problem.Geoff listen to my observed symptoms of LittleOne. He ran test, prescribed a antibiotic and now LittleOne IS eating and drinking water.Dr. Wesbrock, Thank You for listening and helping us both out.I highly recommend this business, and knowledgeable staff.Respectfully, M. Shepard

Ask for credentials before allowing Eastern medicine...
I took my dog to see Dr. Davenport when Dr. Love was not available. She prescibed Chinese herbs that did not work at all for his conditions. When I consulted my accupuntirist about the herbs, we found out that she had given me a completely wrong herb. When I brought this to her attention, she disagreed, and prescribed another herb. When I looked up the usage for this, again it was the wrong formula for my dog's needs.
I am all for eastern medicine whenever possiblle, but I feel that maybe Dr. Davenport needs a little more training before she is ready to practice eastern meds. Upon researching, I found that vets do not have to go to school as long as regular acupunturists do, in fact it is a rather short course. I recommend finding a vet who has been practicing for a while, rather than practicing new skills on your dog.

Expensive vet
Although I think that Dr. Love is very compassionate and caring, this is one of the most expensive vets in town. It is hard to get a timely appt. and if your animal is sick generally I couldn't wait 2 or 3 days. Also a lot of extra services are offered and sometimes pushed.
