Saccone's Pizza Rocks ... It's the best Pizza Pie in Austin !!!!
Consistant, delicious, huge slices from 18" pies (as they should be), genuine, authentic Italian ingredients generously served (and they'll even put foo-foo stuff on 'em that makes me want to punch you in the mouth for ordering it), Subs that send Jersey Mike packing and Pasta dishes like your MamaNella used to make on Sunday, served by helpful, friendly people; that's Saccone's.

Chicago transplants should try his Italian Beef Sandwich or the Sicilian Pies.

The Italian Sausage & Meatballs are heaven on a pie. Try the blanched mushrooms or sweet peppers too. Saccone's Italiano Sub is to die for. His Cannolis? Marone. I can't drive past the place without stopping for at least a slice. By my third visit the owner knew me by name and we've since become friends. Dan cares about pleasing his customers and what they think about his business. If you feel less than satisfied, contact him; he'll make it right, I guarantee.

I'll qualify this rant with my Pizza-Snob credentials; I was born in Brooklyn NY where Pizza started in America, I worked in NE Pizzerias during High School & College, later became a trained Sous Chef and my older brother has been one of the leading Chefs in Austin for over 30 years; I followed him here. I literally teethed on Bagels & Pizza Crust so I feel extremely qualified to judge in this arena.

I travel and have lived in several different regions of the country, mostly in the south since adulthood and far away from all of the familiar tastes, smells and textures that thrill my palate and take me "Home". Anywhere I live, I seek out good delis, the best ethnic dining of all sorts but most importantly REAL PIZZA. My favorite foods above all come from a Pizzeria ... and I'm not talking about some nationally advertised crap that is so bad they feel the need to turn the crust into "garlic bread" because the pie won't stand on it's own merit.

After all, taste is a subjective thing but just because it looks like a pizza doesn't make it a pizza; somebody remind Gatti's, Pizza Hut & Domino's

Great pizza!
This review is for the new location that just opened at 620 & Anderson Mill Road. My boyfriend and I have been looking for a good pizza place, and we found a great one! The pizza is delicious, thin crust style (but not crunchy), and the ingredients are great quality and tasty. I haven't had the subs yet, but if they are anything like the pizza, I'm sure they're great too. The kitchen is open to the dining room, and the cooks asked us on our way out how we liked our meal. Of course it was wonderful. I love it when the cooks at a restaurant are genuinely interested in whether you liked the food. They obviously take a lot of pride in making their guests happy. I don't know whether it's family-owned, but it sure felt that way, like a homey, local establishment. We'll definitely be back.

Very good pizza
This is my family's favorite place for pizza. (I think this is now the Round Rock location?) This is the type of pizza I grew up eating in the North east - the dough is great and not too thick.

best pizza in town
Without a doubt the best pizza I've had in town. Very consistent, very east coat. I haven'd tried their pasta dishes because I can't pass up the pizza or calzones. One minor complaint would be that the bread for the sandwiches is very airy, not enough texture. I highly recommend any one of their locations.
