HORRIBLE ~ I WALKED OUT
THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST SALON/SPA EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW STYLIST AND I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING MY HAIR DONE BEFORE A BIG EVENT. UNFORTUNATELY, IT TOOK FIFTEEN MINUTES OF CIRCLING THE PARKING LOT TO FIND AN OPEN SPACE. ONCE I WALKED IN, THE RECEPTIONIST ACTED LIKE I WAS INTERRUPTING HER BUSY SCHEDULE OF SITTING ON HER BUTT TO CHECK ME IN. THEN, THERE WERE A GROUP OF GIRLS BEHIND THE COUNTER STUFFING THEIR FACES FULL OF FRENCH FRIES AND TALKING ABOUT WHAT A B**** ONE OF THE EARLIER CLIENTS WAS. I WAS INSULTED BY THEIR RUDENESS AND LACK OF MANNERS. I STOOD OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE RECEPTIONIST SO I WOULDN'T BOTHER HER ANYMORE, AND ANOTHER TWURP CAME UP AND SAT DOWN BEHIND THE DESK DIRECTLY UNDER WHERE I WAS STANDING AND JUST STARED AT ME LIKE, GET AWAY FROM THE COUNTER. ONCE I STEPPED AWAY, SHE THEN BEGAN STUFFING HER FACE WITH FRENCH FRIES AND GOSSIPING. TEN MINUTES AFTER MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME, MY NEW STYLIST STILL HAD NOT SHOWED HER FACE, SO THAT, COMBINED WITH THE UNBELIEVABLY UNPROFESSIONAL RECEPTION STAFF SEALED THEIR FATE. I WALKED OUT AND I WILL NEVER, EVER GO THERE AGAIN. RUDE, CRUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL.

AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
I went because I was given a gift certificate. From the moment I walked in the door it was a bad experience!
The front desk girl was extremely RUDE, definetly was not made to feel welcome at all (I was later told she is the owners daughter). The massage I received was okay, but not great for the price. If you are looking for a relaxing spa & are going to spend money, look elsewhere!

Looking for Miranda - I found her!
If you're anything like me - you love your hair cuts and color with Miranda but maybe not love the salon experience at 505.

Good news - Miranda has moved to a cute, new salon in Northwest Austin. I've been to see her and enjoyed the same great hair experience without all the salon drama.

My rating is certainly based on Miranda and her professional abilities - not my experience with Salon 505!

Looking for Rebekah?
Rebekah has been my stylist for over 2 years at Salon 505, but is no longer there. I called to make an appointment and the front desk was unprofessional and would not tell me where she went. I see that other clients were able to find where there stylist have moved to. Crossing my fingers that somebody has found her! Please let me know!!!!

Nothing More Than So-so
I visited Salon 505 for the first time and received a manicure and pedicure from Becky, and an eyebrow wax from Kathy. First, I was very put off because I waited for over 15 minutes to get in for my first service. What did I make an appointment for if I was going to have to wait THAT long? I understand that clients come & go a few minutes late and that really backs up the day, but if I'd arrived 15 minutes late, surely I would have paid a fee or not been seen at all or both. Kathy did a wonderful job on my eyebrows, but spent the time talking about how I should see a dermatologist, get facials, and start working on my skin etc. While I appreciate suggestions, it seemed entirely inappropriate since I was only getting an eyebrow wax.

I called on a Friday to schedule a Tuesday appointment and was told that the earliest available appointment they had for that day was 1 pm - on a Tuesday?! I called back today (Tuesday) to schedule a Friday evening appointment for another mani/pedi and was told that the latest available was 3:30. Mind you, they're open until 8 on Fridays.

I didn't dislike the salon, but with the late start, inappropriate suggestions, the PRICE (almost $200 for salt manicure/pedi, french manicure polish on hands only, and eyebrow wax), and the fact that it's impossible to get into this place, I'm already looking for some place new. The hassle just isn't worth it.
