"Dirty place, Delicious food"My sister first recommended Sambets when I moved to Austin 2 years ago. Its a dark, dusty dive with some truly excellent food. I don't need good customer service because I'm really all about the good eats. The red beans are the only thing I've tried that I havent been excited about.
But the Muffuletas, Po Boys, and all other sides are deliciously seasoned and fabulous. Try the Crawfish...
"Too expensive for what you get"This place is way to expensive for what you get. For $8-9 a poboy, you'd get twice as much food in New Orleans for the same price. The Gumbo is not bad, but the beans & rice were dry and bland and the poboys are basic and boring. Service is not friendly either, except for one lady - she seems nice, I think she owns the place. I probably will not return, unless to buy groceries to cook...
